Clash of the Clubs: 25 days to go
23 August 2022
There are just 25 days to go until DNA’s Clash of the Clubs gets underway in Castellón, Spain.
The event will see 12 clubs from across the continent compete to become champions of Europe in the U20s category.
The two day match takes place on 17-18 September, and promises all the thrills and spills DNA’s short-form format typically provides.
Significant buzz is already building for DNA Castellon, as participating clubs and athletes get involved in amplifying the event on social media.
Young athletes like Ratoath AC’s Jesse Osas and TV Länggasse Bern’s Valérie Guignard have already been featured as rising stars on DNA social channels, and others – from Surco Lucena’s Antonio Marmol to AK Škoda’s Viktorie Jánská – are set to follow.
“We’ve already seen major engagement from our clubs and their athletes on social media channels,” noted European Athletics Vice President and Project Sponsor Libor Varhanik.
“This hyper-local approach is a new way of marketing events for European Athletics, and we can see it is paying dividends already.”
The two-day tournament of four 2.5 hour, 12-event matches (two semi-finals on Day 1 then A and B finals on Day 2) will take place in Castellón’s Complejo Deportive Gaetà Huguet. It will be the first-ever international U20 competition using the Dynamic New Athletics format.
