Club Profile

  • Founded in 1993 and based in the city of Alcorcón, approximately 14 kilometres west of the capital Madrid, Atletismo Alcorcón is traditionally one of Spain’s top eight clubs in the U20 category and its membership currently includes 220 athletes plus 330 students in its associated athletics school.
  • The club qualified to represent Spain at this year’s European DNA U20 Clubs through the strong performances of its athletes at the national U20 championships.
  • Over the years, Atletismo Alcorcón has been home to a number of athletes who have represented Spain internationally including sprinter-long jumper Laura Martínez (instagram.com/laaurammart), who earned a bronze medal in the long jump at the 2022 European Athletics U18 Championships and though still only 18 years old has already taken part in both the European and World U20 championships.
  • In addition, the club’s runners proudly represented Spain at the 2017 edition of the U20 European Champion Clubs Cup in cross country.

DNA History

  • A number of Atletismo Alcorcón’s athletes have taken part in domestic-level DNA competitions in the past but this year’s Clash of Clubs will be the first time the team has represented Spain in the event, making it the third club to do so.

Athletes to Watch

  • Alberto Otiz Maestre, (instagram.com/alber23tto) 17, was a finalist in the 200m at this year’s Spanish U20 championships where he ran his personal best time of 21.91. Earlier in the summer he recorded a PB of 10.79 in the 100m.

  • Sprinter Naiala Pedro (instagram.com/naialaa_17/), also 17, took 4th place in the 100m at the 2025 Spanish U18 Championships. She picked up international experience with a 4th place at the 2025 Ibero American Athletics U18 Championships in Asunción, Paraguay where she ran her personal best time 11.94 in the semi-finals. Indoors she has run a short-track 200m PB of 24.86.
  • Heptathlete Irene Bravo, (instagram.com/_iirenebraavo/) 19, can claim her own valuable international experience, which includes a silver medal at the 2023 edition of the Ibero-American U18 Championships. This year she set a personal best of 5145 points placing second at the Spanish U20 Championships, where she recorded a personal best time of 14.38 in the 100m hurdles, her strongest discipline, as well as a PB of 25.18 in the 200m.
